The members of our firm have experience in advising and opining on barriers to entry, which include foreign investment regulations, policies, and specific commitments under various trade agreements. Our firm also assists investors in conducting due diligence of their portfolio companies and possess the requisite expertise to understand and evaluate business and legal risks across a range of sectors.
What We Have Done
- Conducting due diligence review of various Indian companies on behalf of foreign investors proposing to invest in Indian companies which involved review of the entire corporate documentation, business operations related contracts and documents and regulatory approvals obtained by the company and advising the foreign investors on legal implications of investments in the Indian company and potential liabilities that may be essential to evaluate at the initial stages. Also conducted in depth study of the regulatory framework on foreign investment and circulars, press notes and regulations issued from time to time. Work also involved in assisting the foreign investor in preparing a comprehensive list of pre-closing and post closing items that must be completed.
- Advising clients on the regulatory procedures and policies for foreign investments and conditions attached therewith and assisting in obtaining necessary regulatory approvals from authorities including the Foreign Investment Promotion Board and the Reserve Bank of India.
